Reserves Unofficial Awards 2009 - Sponsored by the anti-cat league leader - Claud Balls

The main awards ceremony was followed by the Reserves unofficial awards for the 2008/09 season. In a dignified and subdued ceremony the following awards were presented:-

Lee Bateman – Best dive, for his heroic actions under extreme pressure!

Dayll Beesley – Best haircut, for an immaculate style from start to end of the season, and even from start to end of games!

Ben Beesley – Best Annoyer – For consistently managing to annoy the biggest ugliest opposition midfielders week in week out!

Robbie Constsant – Super Sub – For having the balls to stand up and fight for a shirt all year long. Also a superb ball juggler, able to catch a pool ball in a pint glass!!

Damo Cudmore – Where’s the sniper – Having to be taken away in an ambulance, after being shot at the home game with St Stephen.

Ali Feasy – The real young player of the year – As voted by his team mates in the reserves. Woody didn’t pay them as much as Ali!!!

Chris Ferrett – Captain Marvel. Sums it up really, a true Bridger through and through and real genleman. Heard he might give it a go with Duchy Premier side next year though!!

Andy Harris – Iron Man. Awarded for his undying enthusiasm for the game and his determination to try and play through the pain barrier!

Ben Hurst – Best keeper, for his heroic efforts for all three teams, most memorable for saving four penalties this season!

Adam Jobe – Worst hair cut, although has now got a good looking haircut, which I am keen to copy!!

Nick Knight – 1st team Left winger, for his superb display at Tavistock, when he made the left wing his own. No one got near him for the whole three minutes!

Darren Lang – Plucked Chicken, for the most daring hairdo of the season, only usually on show in the post match shower!

Tommy Potterton – Hollywood, our very own reality TV star with an entourage of adoring fans!

Jamie Sellwood – High School Musical No1 Fan- Very worried about this boy!!

Jimmy Vernon – Too fast too furious – Sweet talking Verns, the man who can talk his way out of anything! What did you promise in return Verns??

Danny Witts – Chip off the old boot! Danny is a hard man (and only 16) but even he struggles when he volleys a size ten footy boot with an ugly Liskeard player on the end of it!!

Tom ‘Woody’ Wood – Bikini Babe, our very own catwalk model who is a wow in his Bikini!!

Wayne Sellwood – One eyed bandit, harsh award dedicated by his loving son.

Paul Thomas – One 2 One fitness Best Trainer award, for services to sit ups!!

And finally the Suede Shoe award 2008/09 for the best goal of the season was awarded to Chris Ferrett for his sensational goal against league champions Torpoint!!

The awards were presented to the accompaniment of some fine community singing and traditional folk dancing. The whole team has been invited to take part in the ‘Britain’s Got talent show’ by Simon Cowell.
Robbie Constant performed his exceptional ball juggling feat with a pool ball and pint of larger, a superb illusion which resulted in the ball ending up in the pint glass and the larger on the pool table. The lady from the hotel didn’t seem that impressed and I guess she may have seen the trick before!
Thommo completed the whole thing with an eyecatching display of ‘Double dutch’ skipping which was warmly applauded by all in the room.

All in all a great end to a satisfactory year! BRING ON NEXT SEASON!!!!
