The Team
There are two U14 girls’ teams: Wolves for the Year 9s and Wolf Cubs for the Year 8s. The current Wolf Cubs team started to come together when the girls were in Year 3, and their numbers have grown steadily each year – they are now in Year 8.
The girls play in the Cornwall Girls’ Football League. The Cubs always play up a year, as currently the Girls’ League alternates between odd and even age groups each year. However, they more than hold their own against tough and mostly older opposition.
During the winter months, the team get to take part in an indoor futsal tournament and in the Summer they play football festivals, including a big one on the beach at Perranporth.
As well as training and playing matches, the girls have enjoyed other activities as a team, including laser tag, surf lessons, beach football, the Aqua park at Retallack and also fund raising.
