The Bridgers banished the memory of Saturday’s defeat at Helston to come out on top in this 8 goal thriller (all goals can be enjoyed below in our Match Highlights reel).
It was a largely subdued performance in the opening 30 mins for the Bridgers, compounded by the visitors taking the lead on 14 minutes when Sonny Dover lobbed Bridgers keeper Rob Rosevear.
The Bridgers gradually got into the game and were level on 40 minutes when Tom Strike won the ball in midfield, rode a couple of tackles, charged down the left wing and crossed for Sam Wickins to get ahead of the keeper to net.
HT: Bridgers 1-1 Sticker
The Bridgers came out with all guns blazing in the second half. They went ahead on 56 minutes when Ben William’s fired the ball high into the net, and on 58 minutes, Jacob Smale made it 3-1 to the Bridgers.
Any thoughts amongst the supporters that this was game, set and match to the Bridgers were dashed on 67 minutes when a mix up in the defence allowed Derrick Lucas to score for the visitors and on 71 minutes, Sticker levelled the contest when Bailey Smith netted.
But the Bridgers were not to be denied the 3 points as on 81 minutes, Kyle Flew grabbed the Bridgers 4th of the evening and a minute later, Jacob Smale scored his second and the Bridgers 5th.
The win moved the Bridgers up to 11th in the league, for 24 hours at least.
