Check out the Gaffer’s Thoughts as we welcome the players, staff and supporters of Newquay to Bodieve Park.
We come into this one 5 unbeaten which is pleasing
After a spell losing games by the odd goal, we are now sneaking results
Probably not playing any better but sometimes it’s just that extra level of belief can get you through.
What I’m certain of is that having a squad of 16 to call on rather than 12-13 is a massive advantage
Being able to have options, freshen things up off the bench, can swing these tight games your way.
I was delighted with the attitude of the lads as we managed the squad for our recent Wednesday/ Saturday fixtures against Millbrook and Holsworthy respectively.
Every player wants to start every game. As a management team you have to distance yourself from that and make the calls that you think are best for the team.
6 points from those two matches suggest we got it right on this occasion but get it wrong and you can be sure to know about it quick enough!!
One piece of bad news is that Tom Savigar has had a setback around his shoulder injury and it’s clear we’ll have to be a little more patient with his resumption.
It’ll be tougher without him but I’ve confidence in the lads we have
Let’s see how we get on
Enjoy the match
