Check out the Gaffer’s thoughts as we welcome the players, staff and supporters of Penzance to Bodieve Park on Saturday.
For the third time in as many weeks we have followed up a defeat, with a comfortable victory, this time beating Callington 2-0 in an eventful match.
What we must now endeavour to do is put back to back victories together, something we are yet to do this season
Before the game on Wednesday I challenged the lads to be really disciplined in our approach, compete but stay focussed on the job in hand. They were quite superb at this.
The drive and intensity the boys need to work at, was back from the inexplicably low levels from the vase game and although I think we can play much better in possession, it was a satisfactory nights work.
Penzance have seen a recent upturn in performances after a difficult campaign last season.
An eye catching win at Newquay was followed up with a draw against Sticker. Anything less than a proper performance from us and we can see the good work from midweek being undone.
Chris Reski misses the game as he’s attending a wedding, however Sam Gerken is back after attending one midweek.
We have no further injury concerns other than the long term ones to Bryn Sturdy and Kyle Flew.
We potentially have a few selection headaches on the horizon, however past experience tells me that can change very quickly indeed.
