The Gaffer’s Reflections

A super display.

I asked the lads to be a bit braver, play more and accept mistakes on the ball will happen.

Some great football sprinkled with some brilliant goals

Bridgers 7-1 Sticker

For the fourth time this season, the Bridgers hit 7 goals in a match.

Matt Lloyd opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a header from a corner.

The Bridgers laid seige to the Sticker goal, but could not increase their lead, with Jacob Rowe and Sam Gerken having the best efforts.

Sticker levelled the game with their very first effort of the half from a corner which Mickey Rowles-Jane headed home on 41 minutes. But parity did not last long as on 45 mins, Aaron Dilley drilled in a low shot to make it 2-1.

It did not take long for the Bridgers to make it 3-1, Jacob Smale dancing his way through the Sticker defence and smashing the ball into the net on 50 mins. And it soon became 4-1 on 65 mins when Sam Gerken, making his 351st Appearance, slammed home a loose ball.

Manager Paul Rowe made some changes, and one those who came on Jack Bowyer, made it 5-1 on 75 mins when he rounded the Sticker keeper and planted the ball in the net. And on 84 mins JB was at it again as he doubled his tally for the afternoon with a neat finish. It was left to Kyle Flew to finish the scoring on 90 mins when he netted his second goal of the season.
