Check out the Gaffer’s Thoughts as we welcome the players, staff and supporters of Sticker to Bodieve Park.
It’s Tuesday as I write these notes and I’m still very much down in the dumps after Saturday’s performance.
Ive said to many people since our 3-2 defeat at home to Truro, that I wish I could enjoy the wins, as much as I hated the defeats, but the truth is, shortly after a victory, I’m planning for the next one, whilst after a loss I can wallow in it for days. Where’s a midweek fixture when you need one!!
Credit to Truro’s youngsters, they out played us on the day.
You can lose a game of football, but we were unrecognisable in the way we went about trying to turn it around and I’m frustrated that I wasn’t good enough on the day, to get the players to adapt in adversity.
Saturday brings Sticker and my good mate Dan Nancarrow to Bodieve.
It’s not the start of the season they would have been hoping for but Nanks had brought in some really good players and he’s got such a winners mentality, that I’d be astonished if they are towards the bottom at the end of the season.
It’s a big game for us now. Defeats happen and how you react to them is all you have left.
If we don’t learn from Saturday then the day really was a disaster.
We have a similar amount of players unavailable every week it seems, for one reason or another but this does provide some lads coming back in, a chance to nail down a spot in the side.
Here’s hoping for a much better Saturday
Enjoy the game
